Sustainability –
Environmental Review (E of ESG)
Setting and reporting sustainability targets is an expectation of every modern organisation and is quite commonplace today. However, backing this up with a roadmap of tangible initiatives is the next step that’s not always followed.
We have experience in developing a bottom-up plan to deliver on these top-down targets. A good approach is to utilise existing pockets of excellence and add them to new identified opportunities in cooperation with experts across every organisational level. This process often starts with a comprehensive data-based diagnostic of packaging material, a full waste audit and a water/energy consumption assessment - an end-to-end review from supplier level down to customers and even consumers.
02
Advanced Manufacturing Strategy
Strategy is at the centre of our work. We focus on Operational Readiness (OR), acceptance testing of filling lines (challenge testing of aseptic and warmfill) and governance of the capex process. We are experienced in network optimisation including closure and opening of filling plants. Our knowledge of Industrial Relations for multi-site operations with various unions can help you to reach mutually favourable outcomes during Enterprise Agreement Negotiations. We can also design and develop Strategic White Papers, and support with workforce planning and new equipment implementation. We create step change efficiency without high capital investment, through focused improvement and shop floor enablement.
03
Strategic Procurement & Supply Chain
Procurement plays a key role in mitigating risk and creating competitive advantage, thus driving enterprise growth. We help you to unlock new sources of value and minimise costs, through the creation of end-to-end systems from suppliers to customers. Our success in this area is based on our belief that Procurement strategy adds the most sustainable value when all functions and processes are working seamlessly. Our areas of expertise in Strategic
Procurement and Supply Chain include:
-
Procurement Transformation and Strategy
-
Organisation and People
-
Sourcing Category Management
-
Governance and Performance
-
Procurement Process and Tools
-
Digital Procurement Automation
-

04
Packaging Optimisation
A powerful packaging strategy can be a game-changer for your business. It can help to manage costs, enhance customer experience, and improve your sustainability. We have extensive experience in analysis of every aspect of primary packaging design including lightweighting, closures, container families, and make-or-buy analysis. We can also help to identify opportunities in secondary and tertiary packaging. We have deep knowledge of the latest advancements in transport stability/utilisation, consumer-facing packaging as Shelf-ready Packaging (SRP), and One-Touch-Pallet solutions. We also understand PET recycling systems, low-pressure blowing, injection moulding and bottling processes.
05
S&OP Maturity
Effective Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) is at the core of every successful business. We are experienced in implementing and optimising S&OP to improve forecast accuracy, reduce inventory, enhance manufacturing efficiency and create step-change towards exceptional customer service. We also create robust S&OE processes, which is essential for crisis management.
06
Digitalisation
Real-time information is essential for effective decision-making. We are experienced in step changing paper-based processes into the ‘new normal’ through digital enablers.
Software tools will support this transition but need to be complemented by human-resource processes in capabilities, organisational readiness and exit strategy, in order to achieve tangible bottom line results.
07
Lean/Continuous Improvement
Lean and Continuous Improvement is key to unlocking the full potential of your capabilities. We shift problem solving from middle management to the shop floor, directly addressing manufacturing, planning or logistics roadblocks. Through value stream mapping and ruthless prioritisation, we’ll create an Initiative Hopper with your team, which will drive sustainable cost out and improve team engagement. This approach is supported by Daily Review Meetings (DOR) and Strategy Deployment through A3s.
08
Quality & Safety Systems
An effective Quality Management System is critical for any organisation to ensure safe and reliable operations. We can work with you to perform Audits, complete Certifications, and create a customised Food Safety Program, as well as transition your operations to Paperless Quality Control with a focus on Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). We also develop and review Incident Response Programs (IMCRs), making sure they are practical and updated as necessary.
09
P&L Management
‘Knowing your Numbers’ is the mantra we are applying in all our consulting approach and need to be applied in every function and role of your organisation. This will maximise sustainably the Cost Out results of your organisation. We are following a ‘Zero Waste’ View and starting every engagement with an internal benchmarking (line level, Sku level, function).
10
Leadership Capability Programs
We prioritise matching the right leadership skills to an organisation’s strategy. From the most senior level, enabling the second circle of leaders, creating a high-performing team at all levels, driving shop floor enablement. We provide 1:1 mentoring, group leadership sessions, and on-the-job hands-on coaching.
Martin seamlessly integrated into Jord’s team and provided sound leadership in his areas of expertise.
His industry knowledge and network is second to none.
Angus Holden, CEO, Jord International Pty. Ltd.
The best way to describe Martin and his approach is as follows: “Great leaders have a genuine interest in others. They have a desire to build a relationship with their team, to know the people working with them, and to encourage everyone on their team to be the best they can be.”
Sam Pupillo, Human Resources Director, Gerflor Australasia Pty Ltd
